Principles

What is involved?
The expedition section involves planning, training for and completing an unaccompanied, self –reliant expedition with an agreed aim.
All participants must do at least one practice expeditions and a qualifying expedition in order to complete the section. (Direct entrants at Gold level are recommended to complete an extra practice expedition.)
Expeditions must be completed by the participants’ own physical efforts with minimal external intervention and without motorised assistance. The route should be a continuous journey.
DofE Expeditions for Schools, Groups or Operating Authorities _ Walking
These are for schools, groups or operating authorities of 10 or more participants whose preferred method of travel is by walking.
At Bronze, Silver or Gold level we will design a bespoke programme of training and expeditions especially for your group.

DofE Expeditions for Schools, Groups or Operating Authorities – Canoeing
These are for schools, groups or operating authorities of 10 or more participants whose preferred method of travel is by open canoe.
At Bronze, Silver or Gold level we will design a bespoke programme of training and expeditions especially for your group.

Open DofE Expeditions
For individuals and small groups we run a programme of Open DofE Gold, Silver & Bronze Expeditions. These can be walking or canoeing.
